~ The Mid-Year Freakout ~

Hello again everyone! Today I decided to do the “Mid-Year Freakout Tag”, and I was tagged by my awesome friend, Destiny! This tag seems super long and hopefully, I do it right AHAHA! But anyways, this tag is super neat and I have no idea who created it soooo there’s that (I’m a mess oml) I’ll tag a few people at the bottom of this post because it’s going to take me THAT long to think of who to tag. But AYE let’s get on with this tag!

1. 

~ The Best Book You’ve Read this Year ~

This one is super easy and it goes to Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor. I’ve never read anything this amazing before, like really I was completely blown away by this book. I went into it not expecting anything out of it because I had never read a Laini Taylor novel before. Strange the Dreamer was amazing and original and magical. It definitely deserves the award for best release of 2017.

~ Your Favorite Sequel this Year ~

So far, the best sequel I’ve read this year is Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab. It was intense and dark and seriously better than expected. It brought on all the feels and I didn’t think it would be as amazing as it was. I didn’t read very many sequels this year, but this won by a long shot!

~ A New Release that You Haven’t Read but Really Want To ~

A new release that I’ve been hoping to read it Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley. I did request an ARC and it still is pending but whatever. It sounds like one of those really quick nice contemporaries, and I really need a fluffy read in my life right about now.

~ Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year ~

This is an evil question. There are soo many good books coming out this year, like how can I choose just ONE??!! Okay, lets see, i’mma pick three and not just one. I would have to say Warcross by Marie Lu, Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, and Tower of Dawn by Sarah. J Maas. Hopefully, they will all be 100/10 and I’m super excited!

~ Your Biggest Disappointment ~

This was by far the easiest question of this whole tag. THIS AWARD GOES TO FLAME IN THE MIST BY RENEE ADHIEH. It was trash and I ugh i’m still salty about it and I read it over a month ago. Every time I see this dumb cover I want to flip out. It was my second most anticipated release and I couldn’t even finish it because it was THAT bad. *salt intensifies*

~ Biggest Surprise of the Year ~

The Black Witch by Laurie Forest through me out of the water. There was a lot of controversy regarding this book and I was trying to stay away from it because it looked really racist. The review that came out about this book was strategically crafted to make the book seem racist and horrible. When in all actuality it was nothing that the review painted it out to be. This book was so well crafted and beautifully written to combat racism and all the social issues out there. It was such a great book and it is definitely worth reading! ~ Favorite New-To-You or Debut Author ~

This 100% goes to Laini Taylor. This year was a lot of rereads from my favorite authors so Laini Taylor was a new one that completely blew me away. I’m going to read her other series sometimes next month and I’m STOKED.

~ Your New Fictional Crush ~

Hi, welcome to a crazy hard question. I have many fictional crushes but this year I met Lila Bard and my life changed. Lila is my wife, and I love her to no end. Lila Bard is a pirate from The Shades of Magic series by Victoria Schwab. She is perfect and that is all.

~ Your New Favorite Character ~

… who comes up with these evil questions? I have to pick just one?! That’s so hard. Okay okay okay, (I’ve been sitting here for five minutes.) I’m picking two whatever, I can’t pick one, this is evil. I would say Rora from Roar by Cora Carmack and Eliza from Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. Two very very different characters but I absolutely love them!

~ A Book that Made you Cry ~

Oh gosh, ahahah I cry all the time in books. I’m the biggest baby you’ll ever meet because I always end up WAAY too connected to book characters and it never ends well for me. But I’m going to go with The Hate u Give by Angie Thomas. This book really touched my heart and I was just emotional throughout the whole thing.

~ A Book that Made you Happy ~

My cheeks almost fell off from a number of times I was smiling and laughing during A Court of Wings and Ruin. I absolutely love the Inner Circle and they always make me laugh and just thinking of them puts a smile on my face!

~ Your Favorite Book to Movie Adaption ~

I actually don’t watch television or movies soo I haven’t seen any this year (or any year for that matter.) I do think that Roar by Cora Carmack would be an amazing movie though. There is so much potential for crazy graphics and insane epicness. But yeah, I wouldn’t watch it anyways ahaha!

~ Favorite Book Post You’ve Published ~

Eesssh this one is hard! I think my extensive review on The Black Witch was quite an accomplishment since it was 7,000 words. But the one that has been most fun was my Throne of Glass Series post that was dedicated to my one of my favorite series!

~ Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought this Year ~

All books are beautiful in my sight (gosh that sounded NERDY lolol) But so far this year, my favorite cover is Our Dark Duet. That one is just GORGEOUS WOOO. I stare at it all day long and I’m in love.

~ Books You Need to Read by the End of the Year ~

I HAVE SO MANY!! I just did a post about series I need to finish and those series are definitely my main focus this year! ( here is the post ) I am most looking forward to The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor as well The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson! They both sound amazing and they need to happen by the end of this year.
