Hey friends! So last month was the first time I ever tried to write up a TBR and I failed utterly at it. I had picked Slow Burn, A Curse so Dark and Lonely, Empire of Sand, Everless, and Vicious. The two books I read were Slow Burn and Everless LOL! But this month I’m going to try to pick five more books and we’ll see if I actually read them.
~ Once & Future ~
by Amy Rose Cappetta and Cori McCarthy
This is one I have a planned Buddy Read for with my fave Alana (@thebookishchick.) This is her first ever BR and it’s going to be great.
When Ari crash-lands on Old Earth and pulls a magic sword from its ancient resting place, she is revealed to be the newest reincarnation of King Arthur. Then she meets Merlin, who has aged backward over the centuries into a teenager, and together they must break the curse that keeps Arthur coming back. Their quest? Defeat the cruel, oppressive government and bring peace and equality to all humankind.
~ Bloodwitch (Witchlands #3) ~
by Susan Dennard
This is one I started in November and that I so graciously got accepted an ARC for. I love this series so much and can’t wait to dive completely back into this book! I also need to finish it so I can send it off to a friend who is also very excited for it lol.
High in a snowy mountain range, a monastery that holds more than just faith clings to the side of a cliff. Below, thwarted by a lake, a bloodthirsty horde of raiders await the coming of winter and the frozen path to destroy the sanctuary and its secrets. The Bloodwitch Aeduan has teamed up with the Threadwitch Iseult and the magical girl Owl to stop the destruction. But to do so, he must confront his own father, and his past.
~ You Asked for Perfect ~
by Laura Silverman
This one doesn’t come out for a while, as it is another ARC that I do have. But I really have the intense urge to read it because it sounds so good but also really angsty. And yet I’m also afraid because my friends who have read it didn’t like it very much but I have hope!
Senior Ariel Stone is the perfect college applicant: first chair violin, dedicated community volunteer, and expected valedictorian. He works hard – really hard – to make his life look effortless. A failed Calculus quiz is not part of that plan. Not when he’s number one. Not when his peers can smell weakness like a freshman’s body spray. Figuring a few all-nighters will preserve his class rank, Ariel throws himself into studying. His friends will understand if he skips a few plans, and he can sleep when he graduates. Except Ariel’s grade continues to slide. Reluctantly, he gets a tutor. Amir and Ariel have never gotten along, but Amir excels in Calculus, and Ariel is out of options. Ariel may not like Calc, but he might like Amir. Except adding a new relationship to his long list of commitments may just push him past his limit.
~ Ravensong (Green Creek #2) ~
by TJ Klune
This is another I already started in November but a lot of stuff happened in November and I just couldn’t immerse myself in it like I wanted too. But I have all the time in the world in December so I am ready to finish this and hopefully love it just as much as Wolfsong even though I think that may be impossible.
Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves.
It should have been enough.
And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together as a pack… and won.
Now, a year later, Gordo has found himself once again the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them.
But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it’s crawling from within.
Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken.
~ The Queen of Air and Darkness (Dark Artifices #3) ~
by Cassandra Clare
This is one that is obviously going to get read but I just wanted to throw it in here. I am not ready for this to end and I am probably going to be in such a reading slump and I will probably cry a lot but I am READY. I am not ready for this series to be over but I am so excited to see what Cassie Clare has in store for us.
What if damnation is the price of true love?
Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the blight that is destroying the race of warlocks.
Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.
I really think I can tackle ALL of these books and I’m so excited! I have a whole month of nothing to do and I could read so so much in this month. Also! It’s my birthday month so I really want to complete my goal.
What are some books on your December TBR?
I hope y’all have a great day/night and Happy Reading Friends!
