~ Book Beginnings (Mistborn) ~

Hola everyone! Today’s “Book Beginnings” post is about Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson! This bookish tag was created by Rose City Reader and it’s focusing on the first sentence (or the first few) of the book you’re reading, and just reflecting on it! It helps out a lot with actually thinking about what you’re reading! So yeah, as I said, I’m reading Mistborn this week with my awesome friend Maram (who hasn’t started it yet and it’s been a week LOL.)

~ Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson~

“Sometimes, I worry that I’m not the hero everyone thinks I am. The philosophers assure me that this is the time, that the signs have been met. But I still wonder if they have the wrong man. So many people depend on me. They say I will hold the future of the entire world on my arms. What would they think if they knew that their champion –  the Hero of Ages, their savior – doubted himself? Perhaps, they wouldn’t be shocked at all. In a way, this is what worries me most. Maybe, in their hearts, they wonder – just as I do. When they see, do they see a liar?”

Ahaha okay, it may look like I wrote a lot but I really didn’t, that’s only the first paragraph. And woo it’s awesome. I haven’t even finished one of Brandon Sanderson’s books, and I can already say he is one of the most amazing/talented authors to ever exist. What he creates with just words is truly astounding and wow I am completely blown away by this book. I am about 200 pages into the story right now and have 300 pages left and I am terrified. I’ve heard around that Brandon has no chill and writes emotional endings so yup I’m not ready. ANYWAYS, back onto the paragraph lolol. Branderson (typing out his full name is a pain) sets up the story great with this intro. It shows that characters struggle within themselves about who they are and I love it. And I have absolutely NO idea who this character is because we don’t actually meet him? It’s like a little-italicized section above every chapter, and we have no idea who this is. But with the characters that we do know, they struggle so much inside. They try to put on a front like they’re these tough characters (and they are don’t get me wrong) but they also have very emotional backgrounds and stories. They’re still trying to figure out exactly who they are and what they want in life and man this book is just WUZZAH. So yup, this book is just amazing, and the beginning is amazing, everything is amazing.

I really got to stop talking about this book because I could go on and on forever and I’m not even halfway through. I wouldn’t even be surprised if this makes my favorite series of all time. It’s That good. But this week I’m really hoping to have more reviews up! I haven’t read any full books in about a week, so yeah I’m a mess. I’ve been busy with work this week so I haven’t had much time to read. I”ll be back in full swing next week y’all, I promise.

I hope y’all have a great day and Happy Reading!
